• The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) launched the 'Swachh Shehar Jodi' initiative in 2025 as a mentorship and collaboration program for urban waste management.
• It is a time-bound, 100-day pilot program under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U).
• The initiative's main objective is to promote peer learning and improve sanitation outcomes in urban areas.
• It is designed to ensure that lower-performing cities benefit from the experience of cities with a track record of sanitation excellence.
• Mentor cities: High-performing cities that have demonstrated exceptional results in sanitation and waste management. In 2025, 72 such cities were selected.
• Mentee cities: Roughly 200 lower-ranked cities that will receive guidance and support.
• ਹਾਊਸਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ (ਐਮਓਐਚਯੂਏ) ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਰਹਿੰਦ-ਖੂੰਹਦ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਜੋਂ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ 'ਸਵੱਛ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜੋੜੀ' ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
• ਇਹ ਸਵੱਛ ਭਾਰਤ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ-ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ (ਐੱਸਬੀਐੱਮ-ਯੂ) ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਂਬੱਧ 100 ਦਿਨਾ ਪਾਇਲਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਹੈ।
• ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਅਰ ਲਰਨਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੱਛਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
• ਇਹ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਘੱਟ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਵੱਛਤਾ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਟਰੈਕ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ।
• ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ: ਉੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਵੱਛਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦ-ਖੂੰਹਦ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਹਨ। 2025 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ 72 ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
• ਮੈਂਟੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ: ਲਗਭਗ 200 ਹੇਠਲੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜੋ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ.
