• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will commission Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Samudra Pratap’, the first of two pollution control vessels, at Goa Shipyard Limited, Vasco, in South Goa.
• The vessel has been designed and constructed by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) under the two-ship PCV project.
• The vessel is equipped with advanced systems to detect oil spills, enabling comprehensive pollution response operations within the Exclusive Economic Zone and beyond.
• ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਾਜਨਾਥ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਗੋਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਆ ਸ਼ਿਪਯਾਰਡ ਲਿਮਟਿਡ, ਵਾਸਕੋ ਵਿਖੇ ਦੋ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਣ ਜਹਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਤੱਟ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ ਜਹਾਜ਼ 'ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ' ਨੂੰ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
• ਇਸ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਆ ਸ਼ਿਪਯਾਰਡ ਲਿਮਟਿਡ (GSL) ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੋ-ਜਹਾਜ਼ PCV ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
• ਇਹ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਤੇਲ ਦੇ ਛਿੱਟੇ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉੱਨਤ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
