• The Defence Research and Development Organization has developed a portable water desalination device to meet the drinking water needs of soldiers deployed in challenging and water-scarce environments.
• The system is designed to support small groups operating in remote, coastal, or high-altitude regions where access to potable water is severely limited.

Sea Water Desalination System (SWaDeS)

• The device, named Sea Water Desalination System (SWaDeS), has been developed by the Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur in response to operational requirements projected by the tri-command services. It can be operated either manually or through an engine-driven mode, offering flexibility across different deployment scenarios.
• ਡਿਫੈਂਸ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਐਂਡ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਪੂਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੋਰਟੇਬਲ ਵਾਟਰ ਡਿਸੈਲਿਨੇਸ਼ਨ ਯੰਤਰ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
• ਸਿਸਟਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ, ਤੱਟਵਰਤੀ, ਜਾਂ ਉੱਚ-ਉੱਚਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੀਣ ਯੋਗ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੀਮਤ ਹੈ।

ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਖਾਰੇਪਣ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ (SWaDeS)

• ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਵਾਟਰ ਡੀਸੈਲਿਨੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿਸਟਮ (SWaDeS) ਨਾਮਕ ਡਿਵਾਈਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਫੈਂਸ ਲੈਬਾਰਟਰੀ, ਜੋਧਪੁਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਟ੍ਰਾਈ-ਕਮਾਂਡ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਜਾਂ ਇੰਜਣ-ਚਾਲਿਤ ਮੋਡ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤੈਨਾਤੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਚਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
