Botanical Survey of India gets a new director, the first mycologist to head the institute / ਬੋਟੈਨੀਕਲ ਸਰਵੇ ਆਫ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਨਵਾਂ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਾਈਕੋਲੋਜਿਸਟ
- Dr. Kanad Das has been appointed as the 13th Director of the Botanical Survey of India (BSI), making him the first mycologist to lead the institution.
- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his appointment on September 6, 2025
- An internationally recognized expert in the taxonomy of fungi, Dr. Das has discovered over 165 new species and two new genera of wild mushrooms in India.
- ਡਾ. ਕਨਾਦ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਟੈਨੀਕਲ ਸਰਵੇ ਆਫ ਇੰਡੀਆ (ਬੀਐਸਆਈ) ਦਾ 13 ਵਾਂ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਾਈਕੋਲੋਜਿਸਟ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
- ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ (ਏਸੀਸੀ) ਨੇ6ਸਤੰਬਰ, 2025 ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ
- ਫੰਜਾਈ ਦੇ ਵਰਗੀਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਮਾਹਿਰ, ਡਾ. ਦਾਸ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ 165 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਖੁੰਬਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
